Sreekanth Kurva hails from Hyderabad. He obtained his Bachelors’ in Fine Arts Painting from College of Fine Arts, JNTU, Hyderabad and Masters’ in Graphics from M.S University, Baroda.
Usually, Sreekanth’s art is animal figurative. The bull, his most prominent protagonist is depicted with numerous textures and shapes. He keeps his background minimalistic to draw the onlooker’s attention towards his subject, the vibrant, majestic bull. He infuses collage and painting within his work to render his final pieces. Though he plays with a variety of prints in his collages, his final artwork is monochromatic, with only hints of other colours. His paintings are bright, composing of vibrant hues and dynamic prints. Owing to the use of fabrics, his work has dimension to it.
He has had numerous shows and exhibitions to his credit. His work is featured in various galleries throughout India and private collections abroad. He currently resides in Hyderabad, and works from his studio there.
