The works of Artist, Pramod Kumar navigate the delicate territory between observation and introspection, transforming ordinary visual fragments into layered meditations on memory, identity and modern existence. Born in 1955, Kumar’s artistic journey has been shaped by both rigorous academic training and an evolving contemporary sensibility.

Educated at the College of Arts and Crafts in Patna and later associated with the artistic environment of Banaras Hindu University, the artist developed a distinctive visual vocabulary that bridges traditional painterly discipline with experimental contemporary expression. His early engagement with renowned painter and graphic artist Deepak Banerjee further refined his understanding of composition, symbolism and narrative depth.

Kumar’s practice often incorporates watercolour and digital media, creating atmospheric works infused with pictographic forms, intimate objects and symbolic imagery. Everyday elements appear layered, fragmented and reassembled, reflecting the emotional clutter and psychological rhythms of urban life.

Rather than offering literal narratives, his compositions unfold as visual contemplations  – poetic arrangements that invite viewers into moments of self-discovery and quiet introspection. Through nuanced textures and carefully orchestrated imagery, Kumar explores the intersection of personal memory and collective experience.  Over the years, his works have been featured in significant exhibitions and residencies across India, including presentations in Mumbai, New Delhi, Kochi and Vadodara, establishing his presence within the evolving landscape of contemporary Indian art.
