The HANNIEL is a modern contemporary residence located in Varapuzha, Kerala, covering an area of 9,200 square feet on a plot size of 23 cents. It showcases an interplay of space and form, harmonising with its unique context. The architecture emphasises understated elegance, allowing the surroundings to breathe. The design concept focuses on creating volumes with straight lines, embodying a modern and minimalist approach. Three key principles—asymmetrical balance, repetition of elements, and transition spaces—blend together to create a harmonious visual experience. Zoning optimise space utilisation, with a perforated screen and greenery acting as transition elements from the public road to private spaces. Instead of rigid compound walls, a combination of grills and brick walls fosters openness while maintaining privacy. Dense vegetation and tall compound walls create buffer zones.
