Pune : “43 Privet Drive”, A warm & inviting 1,200 sqft, Home by S.ALT Atelier

This 1,200 sqft 3bhk home designed by Design Firm S.ALT Atelier, for the family of 3 is flooded with natural light in all the rooms. The young couple wanted a calming space, with a subtle take on luxury in their new home where their 4 year old would grow up. The experience goes from the light greys in the Living / Dining room with moments of delight by adding wood and wallpaper – to more personalised spaces for respective bedrooms. The Kids room being one of my favourites, reflects the personality of the 4 year old perfectly. All the colours in the bedroom are carefully balanced against the powder blue walls.

The highlight of the Home is its colour palette. Initially, the huge windows and light coming in the house was identified as a drawback by the client (as the space heated up in the evenings), however we made that to be our USP in the end. The same natural light gave us the freedom of using darker hues of blues & yellows which the clients love.

The materiality of this project is interesting; it has a Parisian yet contemporary nostalgic undertone. We’ve pulled things like brass light fixtures & soft fabric with fresh colours that speak to the peaceful atmosphere of the home. Almost all the furniture is custom made to the clients requirement.
