“It is a 6000 sqft penthouse in a posh locality of Ahmedabad built for a family of 4. I wanted to give it a contemporary Indian feel, blending local materials and careful workmanship. A rich everlasting companionship of colours and textures to appeal to the senses. The warm lighting enhances the colors of the soft furnishing; furthermore, little details of handles and grooves make the products humane and convenient to use. The terrace lounge was designed to be a self sufficient party place with built-in induction and grills. A large oversized painting of actual lotus buds and leafs was purchased from an art gallery to be displayed here. The brass hanging lights add a hint of luxury to the otherwise earthy feel. The bathroom was created as a spa with a built-in jacuzzi and the woodwork on the ceiling was done to give it an actual spa-like feel. All in all the project was a happy amalgamation of warm materials, dextrous workmanship and a trusting client. ” shares Designer Aparna Mehra with the #Housethome Team.
