Chandra Morkonda, hailing from Andhra Pradesh, is a distinguished artist with a deep connection to his roots. Born in 1989 in the tranquil temple town of Srikalahasthi, his artistic journey has been shaped by a profound appreciation for his heritage and the vibrant colors that define it. Chandra holds an MFA from Visva Bharati University in Santiniketan and a BFA from JNTU Hyderabad. His artistic prowess has been acknowledged with a state award from PSTU Hyderabad.

Chandra has made his mark in the art world with numerous group exhibitions held in prominent cities across India, including Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Hyderabad.

For Chandra, the choice of trees as the central theme for his inaugural series, "Kalpakavriksha," crystallized during his time in Santiniketan. He believes his identity is intricately linked to the vivid colors he employs and his style influenced by tribal art. He's deeply enamored with everything Indian, opting for vibrant colors that reflect the essence of his heritage.
