Designed by Sanjeev Panjabi and Sangeeta Merchant of Spasm Architects this home is all about the trees – detailed within the architecture of the bungalow they form an integral part of the blueprint. Earth walls, expansive courtyards and verdant greenery have been used to combat the stifling heat of Ahmedabad in this luxurious residence.

The Clifton House is a 3 bedroom 109sqm residence located in Thane, a metropolitan city in Maharashtra, India. Designed by AUM Architects, the home started as an open ended brief with only the functionality of the spaces specified. This provided an enticing empty canvas of sorts for the architects, who adopted an eclectic approach in delivering a design based on continuity and surprise.

Set in the heart of Chandigarh, 5+1 Peas in a Pod is a contemporary dwelling for a family of five and a newborn. A calm and tranquil residence, the spaces are inspired by the diversities in the personalities of each resident but united by their common love for travel, food, ethnic culture, art and modern aesthetics.

Located in the suburbs of Khar, is House no. 12, designed by Mumbai based Quirk Studio. This home for three boasts of classic, contemporary and modern aesthetics fused with colour and eclectic art, accessories, furniture and more. To personify the homeowners needs and keeping the design brief in mind, the shell of the abode is crafted to look neutral and monochromatic.

Amit Bhar is a Bangalore-based artist whose interest in art began at a young age. In his own words, it was eventually to become “the primary objective of his life”. The pristine, rustic beauty of rural Bengal—of his birthplace, Hooghly-Chinsurah—the clear blue skies, fallen autumn leaves, grazing cattle and the daily life of the village nestled on the banks of the river Hooghly, inspired Bhar to start painting when he was as young as twelve.

Artist, Sujata Achrekar : The Housethome Curated Art Series

Sujata Achrekar was born in 1968. She graduated from the L.S Raheja School of Art, Mumbai, in 1990, following which she got her Diploma in Art Education from Sir JJ School of Art, Mumbai. 

Achrekar’s canvases are predominantly worked in oils, with a profusion of earthy tones like burnt sienna, ochre and rust orange.

We have known this client for quite some time and have worked on a number of projects for them. So we were involved in this project right from site selection till the final handover.

After seeing a number of sites, we zeroed in on this 4,200 sq.ft.

Located in Ahmedabad, Mumbai India, the architecture deploys strategies to mitigate the intense heat. Designed by SPASM Architects, an organic plan bound by massive rammed earth walls with high thermal mass, and courtyards with vertical pivoting wooden louvers, top hung windows with mesh inserts keeps out mosquitoes and allows natural cooling.

The Badari residence is a house designed on a typical urban plot Bengaluru, India which is the tech capitol of India. The client required a house that would be distinguished into two types of spaces. Creating spaces that could be personal and intimate verses spaces that are congregational in nature which encouraged interaction among family and friends.
