“The first lockdown imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic led our clients to rethink their spaces. The idea of renovating their 20 year old beach house just outside city limits sounded like the perfect distraction from the everyday chaos of being locked inside their city apartment.
Away from the bustling chaos of a city, this quaint 3 BHK home is on the urban fringe of the diamond city amidst enchanting landscapes and natural hues. The neat and serene spaces were the confluence of the design narrative. The aim was to achieve materiality with a minimalistic approach.
A Warm & Cosy Home Nursery, Vadodara, by Malvika Acharya Designs
“This nursery, formerly a guest bedroom, was briefed to be a comfortable yet functional child-friendly room. The clients’ primary requirement was to have a kid-friendly space with neutral colors and accents of gender-specific color subtly incorporated into the design. Going with the brief, the sage green of the wainscoting, white walls, and other furniture were decided before the baby was born.

The “T House” : A Contemporary / Mid-Century Modern Home, Gujarat, by Studio Course
The plot, sits within a community of 15 other bungalows, which had to abide to the Builder’s common plans, facade planning, finishing treatment and appearance. Due to these constraints, the internal spaces and planning became our way to experiment with the design of this house.

If we had to describe architect Kavan Shah’s body of work in one word, it would be gritty, dramatic and au naturel.
