“This project is a 2 BHK – 1350 sq ft show flat so we ensured that every client who comes to see the flat feels strong connection with the space. Idea behind the design process was to keep the space simple, subtle and sophisticated with deliberate use of texture, clean lines and a pop of color in every room.
The Impeccable Apartment : “A 2,750 sqft, Ahemdabad Home, by Palak Shah Design Studio”
The project is a magnificent four-bedroom home in the tranquil suburbs of Abad, in the Adani Shantigram Township. The flat itself is charming; with three sides that open and faces the lake. The client is a modest family with two young children with a disciplined and upscale personality.

The residence rightly coined as ‘The muted abode’ is a representation of what’s possible to create using a very simple palette of colours, finishes, and materials. It embodies the family’s simple lifestyle but doesn’t shy away from a vivacious statement. The clients wanted a home that’s sophisticated and modern that led us to conceptualize the project in a rich contemporary theme with a material palette of stone, metal, and mirror that complement each other making an expansive abode.

It is layered with art and antiques that embody an ethos of tropical modernism in the most authentic fashion. Seemingly suspended in time, the home is a crossover between restoration and gut renovation – spreading across the second floor and terrace level of an old building tucked away in the quiet streets of Indiranagar.

The Intricate façade is deeply inspired by Louis Kahn‘s work — which left a permanent mark on the Architecture of the Indian subcontinent; a somber, monumental, yet calm monolithic style.

Yet Cecilia references the desi dish, as well as the French slang word bordel (chaos) to describe her recently renovated home.
